THE DESCENDENTS OF EDWARD FITZRANDOLPH AND ELIZABETH BLOSSOM

The American branch of the FITZRANDOLPH (Randolph) family began in 1630, when EDWARD FITZRANDOLPH, the son of Edward FitzRandolph of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottingham, England, sailed with Governor Winthrops Fleet to Massachusetts, to settle, first in Scituate, Massachusetts Bay Colony. There, he married, in 1637, ELIZABETH BLOSSOM, the daughter of PETER Blossom. Elizabeth was born in 1620, in Leyden, Holland. They later relocated to Barnstable, Barnstable County, Plymouth Colony.

Their second son, the first surviving, NATHANIEL, was, according to some sources, severely beaten as the result of a religious debate between himself (a Quaker) and a Puritan. As a result of this beating, Nathaniel disposed of his property in Massachusetts and moved to Middlesex County, New Jersey Colony. Through the following several years, most of the otherFitzRandolphs also moved to New Jersey.

My line, from EDWARD and ELIZABETH to today, reads as follows:
